Where Do My Donations Go?
Clearwater is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible, non-profit charity that operates primarily on volunteer help. This allows your donations to go directly into animal and educational services, rather than salaries. 100% of every dollar you give is a better life lived for your favorite furry friends!
We’ve provided a guideline for giving, but any amount you feel comfortable with is appreciated. Every donation is important because it’s your way of speaking up for our animals and our planet. And while you may not be able to offer hands-on support, your donations allow our volunteer staff to continue serving our planet.
We often experience the happiness of sighting babies we’ve released, full grown and foraging with their own little ones during spring. This joy is validation that they’ve been successfully reintroduced to the wild, and that the effort of wildlife rehabilitation has a positive effect on them and the environment.
Sign up for our newsletter to keep up with the gang, so you can see how your donation is helping heal our planet. These cute critters aren’t just our family, they’re yours too!
Why Your Help is Vital to the Animals
We’re happy to admit animals based on available space. We typically receive over 10,000 requests per year, and though our hearts would like to receive every animal needing care, our space and resources are limited.
Wildlife rehabilitation often involves complex surgeries and medical care before an animal can be successfully released into the wild. The cost of quality care for “companion” animals throughout their natural lives in high. Because we’re a non-profit charity, we receive no state or federal funding for the services we offer. This means donations are vital for our ability to continue taking in additional animals, and providing them the second chance they deserve!
All adopted pets are kept in a natural home setting, not placed in kennels or cages. Our first priority must be the animals we already have in our care. That assures you that if your animal is admitted to Clearwater, it will live a loving, comfortable life. It’s through your donations that we’re able to care for our animals. The more you donate, the more animals we’re able to serve.
Every Little Bit Helps
If you care, but are unable to adopt, please help us care for the animals through your generous donation. Our wildlife rehabilitation, adoption and education services operate through the generosity of informed, kind-hearted donors like yourself. By donating the cost of just one personal entertainment item a month, you can make a meaningful difference to our planet and the diversity of life it supports.
